The Inspection Process

     Home inspections are a very important part of the home buying process. The typical home inspection (2-3000 Sq. Ft.) lasts 3-4 hours. You should be present to get a better understanding of the issues, major or minor, including safety issues with your prospective home.  Below are just some of the main areas covered in a quality inspection.

Electrical Inspection

 

Structure 

foundations, basements, crawl spaces, slabs, framing, roof structure

 

Exteriors

 siding, windows and doors, decks, driveways, garages, and landscaping

 

Roofs

 exterior structure, coverings, flashings, chimneys and lining systems, and drainage

 

Plumbing

 water supply, piping, waste and vent systems, fixtures, and hot water systems

 

Electrical

 conduits/cables, main panel, branch circuit wiring and fixtures

 

Heating and Cooling

 gas, oil hot water and electric systems, gravity and forced air furnaces

 

Interiors

 walls, ceilings, floors, stairs, fireplaces, attics, and room by room inspections
